PestPal (trading as "Pest Pal™") is the data controller for the personal data processed through the Service. When this policy refers to "we", "us" or "our", it means PestPal, the registered legal entity responsible for your data.

When you use Pest Pal™ we may process: (a) photos you upload for identification, (b) feedback you provide on identifications, (c) account information such as email address and display name, and (d) basic technical data such as device type, IP address and request logs.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — to provide pest identification, manage your account, and deliver subscription services you have paid for.
• Legitimate interests — to maintain security, prevent fraud, improve our models, and analyse aggregate usage patterns.
• Consent — where you explicitly agree (e.g. optional marketing communications or analytics cookies).
• Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws or respond to valid requests from authorities.

4. How We Use It

We use this data to provide pest identification, improve our models, maintain security, and analyse aggregate usage. Photos sent to AI providers are processed under their respective privacy terms.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share limited data with: (a) infrastructure providers (hosting, AI inference, database) strictly to operate the Service; (b) our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com, which processes payments, subscriptions, invoicing and tax compliance on our behalf; (c) professional advisers where necessary; and (d) authorities where required by law.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls for our systems, regular security reviews, and pseudonymisation of analytics data. We limit access to personal data to employees and contractors who need it to perform their duties and who are bound by confidentiality obligations.

7. Retention

We retain feedback and uploaded images only as long as necessary to operate and improve the Service, unless a longer period is required by law.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, object to processing, or request data portability. Contact us to make a request. We will respond within one month.

9. Children

Pest Pal is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
